Civil Site Design v16.2 Released!

Civil Site Design V16.2 is now available for download via the Civil Survey Solutions Subscription Portal.

This release extends functionality in Model Viewer with:

  • Improved base surface representation
  • Surface simplification tools for faster display generation of large base surfaces in the viewer
  • Point cloud support, with export to the drawing as a Civil Site Design surface, and
  • Pasted surface export

We have also introduced a new method for managing chainages to use in your outputs, starting with cross section plotting – you can now apply named chainage lists for your cross section outputs, with tick box options to automatically include/exclude horizontal geometry points, vertical geometry points, superelevation and more.

For AutoCAD and BricsCAD customers, we have included a Volume Surface create button on the surface volume command, so you can now apply cut/fill shading, cut fill contours and add surface labels to a volume surface.

Another major focus of this release was improvements and fixes to address customer reported issues.  Check out the readme for full details.

Combined Surfaces and Volume Surfaces

Civil Site Design version 16.2 will give users the ability to output both combined (pasted) surfaces and volume surfaces. These tools will be of particular benefit to AutoCAD and BricsCAD users of the software. However, Civil3D users will appreciate how quick it is to output a pasted surface using this new method.
